Privacy Policy
BaroBite Pro is a fishing, weather, water-condition, and catch-log app. This Privacy Policy explains how BaroBite Pro ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the app.
Information We Access or Collect
- Location data. With your permission, the app accesses approximate or precise device location to show local weather, weather alerts, maps, nearby water conditions, and location-based fishing information. Location is requested only when you use features that need it.
- Photos and camera access. If you choose to add a catch photo, the app accesses the photo you select or the camera image you capture. Catch photos and related catch-log information are stored on your device. You may also choose to export or share an image using Android's sharing tools.
- Catch, spot, trip, and settings data. Information you enter, such as fishing spots, catch details, photos, preferences, and saved locations, is stored locally on your device for the app's features.
- Feedback you submit. When you use the in-app feedback form, we collect the details you provide, optional contact information, the selected spot name if applicable, the current app screen, app version, device manufacturer and model, Android version, and submission time.
- Diagnostic data. We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports, nonfatal error reports, device and operating-system details, app version information, and diagnostic logs needed to investigate and improve reliability.
How Information Is Used
We use information to provide the app's requested features, personalize results to the selected or permitted location, save your on-device fishing information, respond to feedback, troubleshoot problems, and improve app stability. We do not sell personal information or use the information described above for interest-based advertising.
When Information Is Shared
To provide app functionality, relevant requests may be sent to service providers and public-data sources:
- Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) receives feedback reports you submit.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics receives diagnostic and error-report information.
- Weather, mapping, and water-data providers receive requests necessary to return information you ask the app to display. Depending on the feature, requests can include coordinates or a searched place name.
- When you choose Android's share feature, the selected receiving app or service handles the information you share under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the app, or the public.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local catch, spot, trip, photo, and settings data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Feedback reports are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to review, respond to, and improve the app, then deleted or anonymized when no longer needed. To request deletion of feedback or diagnostic information that you submitted, contact us using the email address below and include enough detail for us to locate the report.
Your Choices
You can deny or revoke location, camera, photo, and notification permissions in Android Settings. Some features may not work without the permissions they require. You can delete local app data through the app where available, Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures designed to protect information, including encrypted HTTPS connections for network requests. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
BaroBite Pro is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app or its services change. We will post the updated version at this URL and revise the effective date above.
